The Collegiate Church St. Servatius stands on a sandstone-rock hill overlooking the city of Quedlinburg, Germany. Dating back to 936, the QQuedlinburgerseminary church was used as a place of worship for the secular ladies convent until 1803.

In 1802, the church became property of the Prussian state. It was under French rule from 1808 to 1813, when Quedlinburg belonged to the Westphalian Kingdom. In 1854 a treaty was signed with the Prussian king, who guaranteed parishioners that they could use the church as their own.

In 1938 the National Socialist Party took over the church, and it became a Nazi shrine. The altar, pulpit, and choir stalls were taken away. The Gothic choir was walled up. It wasn't until after the end of World War II that parishioners were finally let back into the church to worship.

Today, public worship is held each Sunday from May to October and on religious holidays like Christmas and Easter. The church is full of treasures, relics from the middle ages, the Servatius reliquary, the Katharine reliquary, and. The church is on UNESCO's World Heritage list.
