Established in 1874 and located at 14 East Cache La Poudre Street, Colorado College is a highly respected institution of higher education located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The school (which originally espoused a Christian modality but has gone secular during the 20th century) follows a liberal arts program of study, is private, and has approximately 2,000 undergraduate students enrolled in a given year.

Colorado College is known for being competitive, with a very low acceptance rate and a good placement in the US News & World Report as well as the Kiplingers magazine university rankings (it normally makes the top 30 in these lists). One peculiarity of the school is its "block plan" academic method, whereby students study one course at a time during three or four week periods (similarly, professors teach one course at a time).

The school's athletics teams generally play in the NCAA Division III, although the men's hockey and women's soccer teams play in Division I. With a 90 acre campus and a stunning view of the Rocky Mountains to the west, the school is excellent for outdoors lovers and physical enthusiasts.
