Columbia’s Metropolitan Convention Center is the only downtown convention hall in South Carolina. Nearly 150,000 square feet of space is available for conventions of all kinds.

Completed in 2004, the state-of-the-art convention center has proven to be one of Columbia’s most important spots in the city. Its accessibility for business travelers coming from the airport and local visitors arriving from nearby has made it the location of choice for exhibits, meetings, receptions, lunches and cocktail parties. The hall can be split into a number of different conference rooms.

The Visitors Center is located on the upper level of the convention center (1101 Lincoln) and information on local restaurants, events and accommodation is available to all. The center is open Monday to Friday 9am to 5 pm, Saturday 10am to 5pm and Sunday 1am to 4pm (closed major holidays).

Extensive parking is available adjacent to the convention center, as well as across the street at Lincoln and Pendleton. Nearby accommodations include the Hampton Inn Columbia on Gervais Street, the Hilton at 924 Senate and the Sheraton at 1400 Main Street a few blocks away.
