Columbia, Missouri is a small city famous for being the home of the University of Missouri with a student population of more than 30,000 and also wants to become known for its airport, Columbia Regional. Columbia Regional Airport began in 1928 on another site and in 1963 moved to its present location. Positioning itself as a low-cost alternative to flying into nearby St. Louis and Kansas City, the airport accepts private aircraft and is serviced by Northwest Airlink, which provides non-stop service to Memphis International Airport, with 3 daily roundtrip flights Monday through Saturday and two flights on Sunday, in addition to other regional destinations.

The airport offers Hertz and Enterprise car rental service counters. But perhaps passengers will be most pleasantly surprised by the free parking that the airport offers, in a parking lot that is patrolled by security guards 24 hours a day. The airport does not offer a lot of amenities, and eating options are limited to the Skyline Café, which is open from 6am to 2:30pm, but there is free wi-fi internet service in the terminal.
