The Community Christian Church of Kansas City, Missouri, has been a part of the community since 1888. Originally established by a Sunday School class from the First Christian Church of Kansas City, the church was formally organized under its first minister, Reverend Hiram S. Gilliam in April of 1890. The Church’s current home, a design by architect Frank Lloyd Wright, was dedicated in 1942. With an emphasis on individual freedom, the Community Christian Church welcomes all worshipers. Tours of the structure are free (donations welcomed), and open to the public, from 9am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday. In addition to weekly services the Church hosts a variety of educational and community support programs, and has a small art gallery- also free and open to the public.
