Just a short drive from the campus of Stanford University, the Computer History Museum displays one of the largest collections of computers and computer related artifacts in the world. With a mission of preserving and displaying the artifacts and stories of the information age, the Museum has displayed computer hardware, photographs, documents, and software in a number of different exhibits since its inception in 1999.

Current exhibits include an Internet History display, ranging from 1962 through 1992, the Mastering the Game exhibit, chronicling computer chess, and The Silicone Engine exhibit, documenting the semiconductor revolution in computing. The Computer History Museum also plays host to a number of special events and can be rented based on availability. Computer enthusiasts will further note that the Museum is located in the Heart of Silicone Valley, less than a mile from Google’s World Headquarters.

The Computer History Museum is located at 1401 North Shoreline Boulevard in Mountain View, California, and does include on-site parking free of charge for all visitors. Admission is always free, while donations are encouraged, and the Museum is open Wednesday through Sunday from noon until 4 P.M., and 11 A.M. through 5 P.M. on Saturdays.
