The Dortmund’s Concert Hall is a building attracting to the eye and designed for the most magnificent sound experience, being one of the best concert halls in central Europe. Due to this detail, since 2002, world famous artists have been queuing to impress the audience. After the performance they were impressed and promised to come back as soon as they can.

The design is impressive: it has two curtainwalls that faces the street which are like the skin of a chameleon, changing from an opaque milky white during the day to a glimmering façade at night. This amassing transformation is provided by vertical computer-controlled light tubes which are built into the glass exterior and change colors throughout the evening. The auditorium has a rectangular form and seats 1150 but can be reduced via a partitioning system to 900 seats for chamber music and more intimate events. The stage area extends relatively deep into the hall and range from 220 to 200 square meters.

The concerts hall lobby has become one of the city’s newest public places. Here people can meet even if they are not attending a concert for a coffee or a cocktail or even for lunch, a120-seat restaurant being opened all day as well as a bar offering refreshments. Foyers with mobile counters for intermissions can also be found in the lobby.

Dortmund Concert Hall is close to Dortmund’s Central Train Station and also has excellent bus and metro services.
