One of the most popular spots for families to take their children for an afternoon of golf and fun in Kissimmee is Congo River Golf, with its extensive theme of traveling through an African jungle that extends not just to the mini golf itself, but also to the extensive game room, arcade, and even to the party and food facilities.

Opened in the 1980s, Congo River Golf's courses are only one of the attractions that takes up over two acres. Each allow players to re-trace the steps of explorers who blazed trails through Central Africa, and there are even educational placards at different holes. However, the focus is more on fun than on history, for the most part, which is just fine by most of the guests.

Play around rushing waterfalls, streams, caves, and bridges while going from hole to hole on both golf courses, or take a break and enjoy a classic video game over in the arcade. For a truly interesting experience that is not likely to be repeated at a mini golf course anywhere outside of the great state of Florida, there's even a chance to feed real live alligators.

Congo River Golf is open daily from ten in the morning until midnight. Located right next to the Sam's Club, a number of hotels are also a short drive away from Congo River Golf, including the Palms Suites Lakeside, the Doubletree Orlando Maingate, and the Palm Lake Front Resort Hotel.
