Since 1878 the Connecticut State Capitol has stood in Hartford, Connecticut, in the lovely Bushnell Park. In 1971 it was designated as a National Historic Landmark, later undergoing several renovation projects. From floors, to ceilings to windows, the building itself is a historical relic, and also offers displays of historical memorabilia amongst the executive offices and legislative chambers of state. Tours are scheduled at intervals throughout the day, and self-guided tour booklets are available. Parking is available to visitors on weekdays, but it is limited.
