A major transportation hub for Buenos Aires, Constitución railway station is not your usual tourist attraction. A neighborhood that more daring and laid-back travelers would describe as "colorful" and that those straight-laced tourists would recommend avoiding during the night-time hours, Constitución railway station has been the city's center point for train travel since the 1860s.

Today, a number of companies operate out of the large and regal station building, including Ferrobaires, a privately-owned company that offers travel by train to many cities in the Buenos Aires Province. Every single southbound train on the Roca line has its final stop at the station. Getting to the station is easy, as many of the different buses in town stop nearby, including the 60. The city's closest subway stop is on the C line of the subte.

The neighborhood around the station is known for seedy businesses of dubious legality, as well as a lot of low-income rentals for illegal immigrants. It's advised that exploring by foot might not be the best way to spend time before your train leaves, but rather, travelers should head to the station itself.

Just a few blocks away from the bustle of the Microcentro, a number of hotels are located in fine neighborhoods close to Constitución railway station, including the InterContinental Hotel Buenos Aires and the Hotel Ibis.
