Cotta
Cotta is the name of a well known publishing house in the 19th century Germany which is primarily developed by businessperson Johann Friedrich Cotta between 1764-1832.
Cotta is an area in the west of the Saxon state capital Dresden and is located in the same district office of the area.
It was founded as a Slavic village on the Elbe River and it was first mentioned in 1328. The incorporation took place in Dresden in 1903 together with some neighboring communities. In the corridors of the town which today is centrally located in the west of the provincial capital is located in the mouth of the Weisseritz. Cotta is mainly characterized by Wilhelmina buildings and is the historic village center which survived only a few houses today.
The district is located in Dresden's Cotta west from about four kilometers from the city center and the inner city. Neighboring districts are Briesnitz in the Northwest, people joke in the West, Gorbitz in the southwest, and Löbtau in the southeast. In the north of the district is bounded by the Elbe which is on the other side stream where Übigau and Cadiz lie. Separated from the river is the area limited by the facilities along the railway line Berlin-Dresden in particular by starting at the breakpoint Dresden-Cotta, 17-meter-high hump of Friedrichstadt marshalling yard.
