The Cottbus railway station - commonly known as the Cottbus Central Station - is the main railway station in the German city of Cottbus, and the largest crossing station in the entire continent. It is very easy to reach on the E36 Highway, located on the site of the historical Lehrter Bahnhof.
The station was opened on May 26th 2006, and was build after an ambitious project. It is currently Europe’s largest two-level railway station. Though it does not have a rich history, the Cottbus railway Station is already one of the most important in Germany, located on the Berlin S-Bahn suburban railway. A taxi station is situated just outside of the station, rates being £20 per hour. A bus shuttle can also be found nearby.
Airports located nearby are Klotzsche Airport (81.4 km) and Schönefeld Airport (88.9 km). Sites of interest in the close proximity of the station are Fair Cottbus Convention Centre, University Cottbus, Stadion der Freundschaft, Theatre Cottbus and Spremberger Street.
