Located at 6733 Springboro Pike in the southern area of Dayton, Ohio, the Cox Arboretum and Gardens MetroPark occupies a total of 189 acres of land. The Cox Arboretum and Gardens MetroPark is part of the Five Rivers Metroparks system, to which the park was entrusted in 1972 (named after the Cox family which originally donated the land to a non-profit in 1962).

The arboretum and gardens offer people in Daytona a pleasant natural escape in the middle of an urban landscape. There are over 500 different varieties of shrubs and trees, an herb garden, a perennial garden, a rock garden, a wildflower garden, over 3 miles of walking trails, and Ohio's only native butterfly house. In this sense, the park is open to visitors daily free of charge. To find out more about this unique place, visit the park's official website by going to http://www.coxarboretum.org/.
