Located at 109 South Commerce Street, the Culpeper Amtrak Station is a staffed Amtrak station with a spacious station building including a waiting room, located in the middle of Culpeper, Virginia. The station was originally built as part of the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad system, though today it is served exclusively by the Amtrak Cardinal and Crescent lines. (The Cardinal line connects New York's Penn Station with the Union Station in Chicago, while the Crescent line connects the Union Passenger Terminal in New Orleans with Penn Station in New York.)

Beginning in October of 2009, Amtrak will offer a new Northeast Regional train service extending through to Culpeper on its way to Lynchburg, Virginia, extending the line beyond its traditional New York-Washington, D.C., route.
