A prestigious construction development in Doha, the Cultural Village was commissioned by the Doha Cultural Village Committee to Cansult Maunsell to undertake the design, management and master planning as well as supervision of this prestigious Doha development.

Located in Doha’s West Bay, a total of ninety-nine hectares makes up the Cultural Village. This project was come up with on behalf of HH the Crown Prince, in order to reflect the traditions of Qatar through architecture which accommodates a large variety of activities arranged to reflect a cultural theme. Aside from theatres, libraries, museums and art galleries, the Cultural Village also has heritage centres, academic facilities and a large amphitheatre.

Maunsell has designed forty various low rise buildings along with a large capacity amphitheatre which has become the village’s main feature. Surrounding buildings will comprise coffee shops, retail outlets, museum facilities and market areas all designed around the project’s historic or cultural theme.

Significant landmarks in this location include the Emiri Diwan, the Museum of Islmaic Art, Doha Port, Qatar National Museum and Dubai Towers Doha. Nearby attractions include Souq Waqif, shoppng, nightlife and the Islamic Museum of Art.
