The Cumberland Amtrak Station (CUM) is located at Queen City and East Harrison Streets in Cumberland and is a stop along the Capitol Limited Line. Originally a majestic station of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroads, the former Queen City Station, complete with gardens and a 150-room hotel, was demolished in 1972.

The Capitol Limited Line travels from Chicago to Washington, D.C. The Cumberland station is one of two stops in Maryland along the Capitol Limited, with Connelsville, PA and Martinsburg, WV coming before and after. Cumberland station is open 9:10 to 10:20 every morning and 6:40 to 7:40 every evening to accommodate the daily stops. There are no ticketing options at this station. Baggage handling and checking are also not available inside. Public restrooms and payphones are in the station.

Accommodations in the area include the Holiday Inn-Cumberland Downtown on South George Street, the Fairfield Inn on Wineow Street, the Inn at Walnut Bottom (120 Greene St.) and the Fort Cumberland Hotel on N. Liberty.
