The Custom House of Key West is one of Southern Florida’s most important historic buildings. Built in 1891, over the years the structure served as a post office, courthouse and government center during the prime of Key West in the early 20th century. For years, the building was boarded up and left in decay. After significant renovation efforts, however, the Custom House has been restored to its original beauty and currently serves as the Key West Museum of Art & History.

Today, the Custom House contains several interesting and exciting exhibits. Visitors can learn about famed author Ernest Hemingway while at the same time experiencing maritime history and even viewing exhibits about pirates.

The Key West Museum of Art & History in the Custom House is open every day from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission is $10.00 for adults, $9.00 for senior citizens and $5.00 for children and students. More information about exhibits, tours and other points of interest, head to www.kwahs.com.
