Dalhalla

Dalhalla is an amphitheatre located 7 km north of Lake Siljan and the town of Rättvik in Dalecarlia in central Sweden. The distance from Stockholm is about 280 km. It is located in a former limestone quarry, and is used as a summer music venue.
360 million years ago a 4 km diameter meteor fell from space. The result is seen today as Lake Siljan and its beautiful surroundings. Dalhalla is one of the only three places in the world where visitors can clearly see how the natural landscape has been affected by meteoric impact.

The quarry is 60 metres deep, 400 metres long and 175 metres wide and the open air theater was inaugurated in 1995 and currently has 4000 seats. The acoustical qualities are similar to those of the best outdoor stages in Europe.

Dalhalla presents 20-30 events each summer, from June to the first days of September with a combination of opera, choral works, and jazz with popular concerts making up the balance of the program.

The entrance is open two hours before the performance begins and the car park is 500-600 m (15 minutes walk) from the "concert hall", with no parking fee.
There are very good facilities for disabled persons with several places for wheelchairs and special transport from the car parks available, with prior booking.

In Dalhalla, Sweden has created a unique festival stage of international repute with exceptional acoustical qualities, fully comparable to the best outdoor stages in Europe.

Klockargården Hotell, Hotell Långbers are some of the hotels located in the area with prices starting from 65 euros.
