The Dallas Amtrak Station, also known as Dallas Union Station, was constructed in 1916. One of the busiest stations in the Southwest, it is the home of several local transit trains as well as Amtrak’s Texas Eagle. The Texas Eagle is a 1306-mile passenger train that runs daily between Chicago, Illinois and San Antonio, Texas. Three days a week, it continues on to Los Angeles, California. Currently, extensions of the line are being considered.

The Dallas Amtrak Station is a sure stop for tourists wishing to avoid flying or driving and hoping to enjoy a more scenic, relaxing trip. Located near the Hyatt Regency Dallas and the Crowne Plaza Hotel, the station is just steps away from some of the area’s greatest attractions. Plus, the location of local commuter trains in the same area renders getting to various city spots easier than ever. The station itself is quite the attraction, for the antique building’s architecture is something to be admired.
