That place, The Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Garden, is a regular arboretum and botanical garden, yes, but with some of the most exciting and creative exhibitions in the entire country.

Located on a lake in East Dallas, the arboretum and botanical garden cover a total of 66 acres, including a house that once belonged to a prominent geophysicist and is now used as a meeting place for special occasions and functions. Other popular attractions in The Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Garden are the extensive collection of azaleas, with almost 2,500 varieties. The best part of visiting is that, because the weather in Texas is so temperate, there's always some variety of flowers blooming, no matter what month you're visiting.

Perhaps the most famous festival at The Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Garden is The Great Pumpkin Festival, which takes place every year in September. The entire park is covered in beautiful pumpkins and squashes, including an entire pumpkin house made of pumpkins, bushes shaped to look like pumpkins surrounded by pumpkins, and pumpkins under the beautiful fall foliage on trees with leaves that change colors.
