You see, The Dallas World Aquarium started out in an old warehouse space in downtown Dallas, proving that more than just bohemian lofts could occupy former factory spaces. The aquarium was moved to a nearby warehouse space, and later, additional space was built to hold some of the more extensive exhibits. From its simple beginnings in a single warehouse space, The Dallas World Aquarium has grown into one of the most original and exciting aquariums in the country.

Part aquarium and part zoo, visitors have a vast array of animals to check out. Over in the aquatic life portion, ten large tanks showcase fish from around the world. There are also a number of jellyfish, anemones, and coral on display. But the fun doesn't stop at those tanks. Around the corner, sharks and manta rays are visible, as are gigantic catfish and manatees.

Interested in four-legged friends? The zoo has a surprisingly thorough collection of animals, as well as plants and birds, that includes monkeys, jaguars, frogs, snakes, and bats. The most impressive animal by far at The Dallas World Aquarium is the only tree-toed sloth at a zoo in the whole country.
