The Dane County Regional Airport is located five miles northeast of central Madison, Wisconsin. The airport comes equipped with three runways and it serves about 1.6 million passengers each year. Airlines which offer flights from MSN include Continental, United, American, Midwest and Delta. Delta has the largest presence, offering the largest number of direct flights. The airlines offer non-stop service to destinations such as Washington DC, Memphis and Denver, among other cities. The airport was originally called Truax Field and it served as an army air force airfield during World War II. Today, the military still uses the facility to house its Air National Guard unit.
