Near the northern end of Front Street, just a short distance away from the Lahaina Jodo Mission Buddhist Cultural Park, is the Lahaina Cannery Mall, which has been Maui’s only fully-enclosed, air conditioned shopping center since 1987. In the rear of the Mall, amongst a number of fast food stands, Dante’s Italian Eatery is an Italian specialty restaurant, featuring a Neapolitan brick pizza oven.
Of special note at Dante’s Italian Eatery are the pizza, crab and shrimp ravioli, and the veal parmesan. As it is a fast food restaurant, meals are served in plastic to-go containers, but the food court does include outdoor picnic tables should patrons wish to eat on-site. The Mall plays host to numerous special events, and is within walking distance of the Old Lahaina Luau, Lahaina Jodo Mission Buddhist Cultural Park, and the Lahaina Kaanapali & Pacific Railroad train station.
