Davies Manor Plantation

Hotels near Davies Manor Plantation, Memphis (Tennessee), United States .

Famous for being the oldest home in Shelby County, Tennessee, the Davies Manor Plantation is a member of the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The home located on the property is a two-story grey log and chink building, with painted white trim, and light grey roofing. It was constructed with white oak logs. While the property owned by the Davies Manor Plantation today has been scaled down significantly, at one time it boasted approximately 2,000 acres. It is not known who originally erected the home, however it is known that between 1831 and 1837, Joel Royster expanded the house from one to two stories (as it appears today). It is believed to have been acquired by the Davies family in the late 1840s or early 1850s.
