Davos is located in the Swiss Alps and is the highest city in Europe, altitude-wise. The Davos Congress Centre is located in the heart of Davos, a combination of serene Alpine surroundings and a luxurious urban atmosphere. The World Economic Forum was held here in 2009, bringing world attention to the unassuming city, and attracting world leaders, beauracrats and journalists from the world over to discuss international issues.
The Conference rooms inside the centre are refurbished regularly. There are two large rooms with excellent facilities for concerts. The largest hall is the Plenary hall which can house large scale events. There are small cubicles to house interpreters, stylish foyers an in house café, and a press centre with 6 offices.
The Congress Centre is about to be renovated and extended and will be reopened to the public in the year 2010. The Centre will have a new hall which can accommodate another 2000 people. The objective is to maintain the same efficiency in functioning with emphasis on more technical reliability. The reworked facility will house 200 cars in its parking space.
Transfers to and from Zurich with the Centre’s own transfer and travel service is also available.
