Dawson Airport

Hotels near Dawson Airport, Dawson City, Canada .

Located in the remote Canadian Yukon, the Dawson City Airport is situated about eight miles to the east of Dawson City, part of the Klondike River valley region that became so famous throughout the world during the 1898 gold rush. The airport is owned and operated by the government of Yukon. The airport has one terminal building and one unpaved runway (uncommon for airports of its class).

Despite its remoteness and infrequent use, the Dawson airport is considered an international airport and therefore is staffed by the Canada Border Services Agency, with 30 passenger flights being the limit for international entries. Currently, Air North is the only commercial passenger airline providing service to the Dawson airport, coming and going from the airports at Inuvik, Fairbanks, Whitehorse and Old Crow (all in Canada).

At a distance of a few miles to the west of the Dawson airport visitors will find lodging arrangements readily available at the Eldorado Hotel, the Westmark Inn, or the Eagle Plains Hotel.
