This 47-acre site is the home of over 1500 rock etchings created by Indians traveling the ancient trade route north of Phoenix, Arizona. Ranging between 500 and 5000 years old, these sketches provide a unique look into the distant past. It is a museum, nature preserve and archaeological site located in the Northwest Valley. From desert plants to mountain ranges, its trail is located in a natural setting that is absolutely amazing. Moreover, its museum provides a unique look into Native American history and tells the story of many of those who migrated through the area.
Deer Valley Rock Art Center is Open Tuesday to Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Sundays from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. during the months of October through April. In May to September, hours are Tuesday through Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Admission fees are $7.00 for adults with lesser prices for seniors, students, children and groups. The center also offers tours in Spanish.
