Degerloch

The Degerloch is a township on the southern outskirts of Stuttgart's city center in Germany which is located in the 200 meters higher Filderebene.
Degerloch District was formed in 1956 by the unification of the separate municipality until 1908 and the Stuttgart Degerloch was founded in the 1930s in the district Hoffeld.
The oldest archaeological evidence of human settlement in and around Degerloch including a village of spiralkeramischen time date from the Neolithic period around 2000 BC. There are also finds from the Hallstead period and from the time of the Celts era urns. Today's settlement was probably made from the time of the Alemanni around 500 AD by Möhringen. The name derives from the Old High German word Tegerlohe and means dense forest. So that was probably originally referred to as the forest west of Möhringen and this designation was transferred to the settlement which consisted only of individual yards.
The nearby attraction is the evangelical Michael's Church which is the oldest church of the village and dates back to 1361. The aforementioned and in 1621 rebuilt the chapel. Its present form was given by a new 1890th. The Catholic Church of the Assumption was dedicated until 1927 and the Evangelical Church Hoffeld 1933rd.
