Den Helder railway station is the northern most railway station of Holland. It happens to be one of the oldest railway stations of Holland. It was opened on 20th December 1865. The station was demolished in the year 1958 and reconstructed to make it more advanced in accordance with the new generation trains. It was during this time that the same station was electrified. This new station building was constructed to the south of the original railway station.

Den Helder railway station comprises of 3 railway platforms. This station happens to be the starting point or the end points of many rail routes. It is the start point of Staatslin K. The services here are operated by Nederlandse Spoorwegen. From this station, two trains run in a day to Maastrict/Heerlen via Amsterdam. Another rail route is from Den Helder to Niimegen via Amsterdam, this railway has a frequency of 2 trains per hour.
