The single largest airport in the United States, and the third largest in the world, the Denver International Airport (DIA), is located in the northeast corner of Denver, Colorado. DIA handles over 625,000 flights annually, which makes it the fifth busiest airport in the world, is the hub for Denver-based Frontier Airlines, and the second hub for Chicago-based United Airlines. The airport was opened in 1995, replacing the old Denver Stapleton Airport, and is noted for its unique architecture, which features a fabric roof supported by steel cables, resembling the snow-capped mountain tops for which Colorado is known.

Based on its size, Denver International Airport provides travelers access to an immense number of destinations through its three terminals. On-site parking is available at rates ranging from $6 to $27 daily, with the main terminal also housing multiple rental car agencies. DIA is also served by multiple Denver Regional Transportation District (RTD) bus lines, and will provide light-rail access to downtown Denver by 2015. The airport features a number of restaurants, bars, cafes, and shops, with Wi-Fi access throughout all three terminals.
