Housed in the striking Frederick C. Hamilton Building in downtown Denver, the Denver Art Museum (DAM) is a 356,000 square-foot private, non-profit art museum and education center. DAM has maintained a presence in downtown Denver since 1949, although its history dates back to 1893, when the Denver Artists Club was originally founded.

While the Denver Art Museum boasts nine curatorial departments, especially notable is the collection of Native American Art, which is comprised of over 18,000 pieces from all over North America, and is recognized as one of the best of its kind. Also of note are the Spanish Colonial Collection, especially with regard to Mexican paintings, and the Pre-Columbian Collection, specifically holdings from Columbia and Ecuador. In addition to the collections themselves, the Museum has received high accolades for integrating technology into the museum experience, providing visitors with an interactive art experience.

The Denver Art Museum is located at 100 West 14th Parkway in downtown Denver, just a short walk from the State Capitol, Sunken Gardens, and the Colorado Convention Center. The Museum is open from Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 A.M. until 5 P.M., with extended hours on Fridays until 10 P.M., and Sundays from noon until 5 P.M. Admission ranges from $3-$10 for Colorado residents, and $5-$13 for non-residents. Parking is available at the 12th Avenue and Broadway garage at rates starting at $1 per hour.
