Denver International Airport (IATA code DEN) is one of the busiest airports in the world and is in the top three in terms of area. Located in northeastern Denver, it is operated by the city government and opened in 1995, replacing the Stapleton International Airport.

DEN (also known as “DIA”) is the base of Frontier Airlines, as well as one of the key hubs of United and Great Lakes Airlines. Concourse A is where many of the international flights leave, including Aeromexico service to Mexico City, Air Canada to Montreal, British Airways to Heathrow and Lufthansa to Frankfurt. Concourse B is host to dozens of flights by United, with service to Chicago, Cancun, L.A., New York, Philadelphia, Boston and many more. Concourse C features flights by American to Chicago, DFW, L.A. and Miami, as well as regional flights by Southwest.

Short and long term parking options are available. Rental car companies such as Avis and Hertz are located at the ground transportation center (information hours are 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. daily). The airport is well-equipped with shops and restaurants for travelers.
