Derwent Water (sometimesspelled Derwentwater) is one of the main bodies of water found in the Lake District National Park in northwest England.

Located just south of the town of Keswick, and partly in the town of Borrowdale, this three mile long, one mile wide lake is fed and drained by the River Derwent.

One inhabited island and a few other islands exist within the lake. Derwent Water is home to seven marinas, and both a passenger launch and boat rentals are available.

Surrounded by hills and woods, there are many recreational walking trails around Derwent Water.

Many hotels surround the Derwent Water area. Most offer a spectacular view. One is The Borrowdale Hotel, a historic hotel dating from 1866 with a restaurant, bar, and free Internet access on site.
