Built in 1983, Desert Highlands Golf Club was the first country club around which a private community was built. Situated north of Scottsdale, Arizona, the course itself was designed by golf legend Jack Nicklaus, and was the home to the first two Professional Golf Association Skins Games in 1983 and 1984.

In addition to the notable course, the Desert Highlands Golf Club clubhouse has been recognized as the third best clubhouse in the world, and the private community also boasts tennis facilities, a fitness center and spa, and a wide variety of concierge, landscaping, and other services. The golf club and community are located north of central Scottsdale, a short distance away from Scottsdale Municipal Airport, the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, and Old Town Scottsdale.

Desert Highlands Golf Club is found at 10040 East Happy Valley Road in Scottsdale. The golf course is open year round; however, it is a private course, therefore open only to members and their guests.
