It is easy to see why Antwerp maintains the Diamond Museum, brighter than all in the world. Antwerp is known as the diamond center of the world as 50% of the world's production of rough, polished, industrial or gem quality diamonds pass right through the city.

The Diamond Museum Antwerp sparkles not just with diamonds, but also history. The museum educates visitors on the history of the diamond industry, along with the entire production process from mining to the glistening finished product.

Perhaps the true highlight of the Diamond Museum Antwerp may be the Treasure Chamber. The Chamber contains a collection of jewelry from the 16th century to present day. Among the contents, visitors can view a replica of the British Crown Jewels, housing two of the largest diamonds in the world, the Koh-I-Noor and the Cullinan i. The museum also displays several contemporary diamond creations and boasts of being extremely interactive by appealing to all of a visitor's senses.

The Diamond Museum remains open for visitors from 10AM to 5:30PM, everyday except Wednesdays. Admission costs 6 Euros for an adult, but children under 12 can enter for free. Audio guides are provided in several languages. The Museum also has a gift shop, coffee café and library on site. After a visit to the Diamond Museum, visitors can continue on right next door to the famous Antwerp Zoo.
