With modest beginnings as a small gift shop in Lahaina that opened in March of 1976, Dolphin Galleries is now a landmark jewelry store at the Whalers Village Mall in Lahaina, Hawaii. Owner Stephen Schlag started the gift store with a good eye for jewelry and art, and not much more, and by 1985, had opened his second location in the Whalers Village Mall. Today, the gallery boasts a jewelry collection, sculpture exhibit, fine art, and a number of exquisite glass pieces. Today Dolphin Galleries has five locations, including one in the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki. The collection includes pieces from George Allan, Betty Hay Freeland, Loet Vanderveen, and Thomas Pradzynski, amongst others. In addition to the constantly evolving collection, Dolphin Galleries plays host to numerous special events at all five locations. The Whalers Village location, just a few miles north of central Lahaina, is within easy walking distance of the Whaler’s Village Museum, Ka’anapali Golf Course North, and Hanakoo Beach State Park. Located at 2435 Kaanapali Parkway in Lahaina, the Whalers Village Mall includes on-site parking free of charge to all visitors, and is open daily from 9:30 A.M. until 10 P.M. Local hotel accommodations include the Ka'anapali Beach Hotel, Whaler on Ka'anapali Beach, Westin Maui, and Marriott’s Maui Ocean Club. For more information, visit http://www.dolphingalleries.com/ .
