The Don Valley Stadium is the home stadium of Rotherham United FC football club and is located in Sheffield, England.

The stadium has the strongest floodlight system in the country which illuminates the running track and the field. Five lighting towers are used, each of them being 45 meters above track level and carrying a lightning head as tall as a typical three-storey house (11 meters high). All amenities for officials and competitors are at track level with all spectators facilities at natural ground level. A great thing about this is that disabled peoples have level access from the main car park straight through to the mid level of spectator seating.

A “bowl effect” is created by the banks of spectators seating which shelters the track, which is five meters below ground level. This offers the athletes every opportunity of producing peak performances and gives ideal viewing conditions. The top-most of the four levels has been set aside for hospitality boxes and press areas while the VIP facilities are on a third level.

Its grandstand which holds 10,000 spectators is the Stadium's major focal point. The main canopy roof is made of Teflon coated glass fibre and has an area of 6000 square metres. On the open terracing can be accommodated up to 15.ooo spectators giving a seated capacity 25,000 for sports events.

A large number of buses serve the Don Valley Stadium, like the 2, 69, 130, 287. The Sheffield Supertram also has a stop 100 meters away from the stadium.
