With around 3,500 students, the Drury “Panthers” have grown significantly from when classes were held in a single building right after the school’s founding in 1873. The early school focused on educational, religious, and musical studies, as the school was founded by Congregationalist church missionaries. Today in addition to its many Academic Departments, Drury is home to the Hammons School of Architecture, Breech School of Business Administration and School of Education & Child Development professional schools. Besides academics, Drury University offers NCAA Division II intercollegiate athletic men’s and women’s teams, and was a founding member of the Heartland Conference.
