The Dublin Area Rapid Transit (DART) is part of the suburban railway network in Ireland, running mainly along the coastline of Dublin Bay on the Trans-Dublin route, from Greystones in County Wicklow, through Dublin to Howth and Malahide in County Dublin.
Established in 1984, is operated by Coras Iompair Éireann (CIÉ). The DART forms part of the Dublin Suburban Rail network. The first railway in Ireland was set from Dublin city centre to Dun Laoghaire, opened on September 17th 1834, and is part of the DART route.
Two new stations were added in the early 1980s, just before electrification: Sandymount and Salthill.
The closest airport is Dublin Airport, just 10 kilometers from the station. National Museum of Ireland - Archaeology, Jameson Distillery, National Botanic Gardens, Button Factory, St. Audoen's Church, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Grand Canal, Croke Park, The O2 Dublin, Gaiety Theatre, Temple Bar, Smithfield and Guinness Storehouse are definitely worth visiting while in Dublin.
