Hotels near Eagle Theater, Sacramento, United States .

To visit the first permanent theatre constructed in the state of California, visitors to Sacramento, California visit the Old Sacramento State Historic Park. Originally built in 1849 out of wood, canvas and a tin roof, the theatre was badly damaged by flooding and torn down in 1850. The Eagle Theatre structure which stands today is a reproduction. Owned by the California Department of Parks and Recreation, Old Sacramento State Historic Park celebrates the history of Sacramento as a once booming gold rush town full of “wild west pioneers and gold miners.” Today the theater opens only for touring school groups, or by special appointment. Other Old Sacramento attractions include the B.F. Hastings Building, the C.M & T. Co. Building, and the Central Pacific Railroad Passenger Station. Hours of operation and entrance fees to the various landmarks and museums may vary.

Choose from area accommodations like the Hyatt Regency Sacramento, Delta King Hotel, Sterling Hotel, Clarion Hotel Mansion Inn and the Embassy Suites Hotel Sacramento. Be sure to visit area attractions like the Stanford Mansion, the Old Sacramento State Historic Park, the Sacramento Zoo, the Crocker Art Museum, the California State Capitol and Museum, the Discovery Museum Science and Space Center, and the California State Railroad Museum.
