The swanky and chic town of East Hampton, New York, is the home of many gorgeous natural and architectural sites, one of which happens to be the Hook Mill, a charming wooden windmill that is alternatively known simply as the East Hampton Windmill.

The East Hampton Windmill is one of the oldest remaining full windmills in the country, dating all the way back to 1806, from which date the windmill operated on a regular basis until 1908, having later been sold to the city of East Hampton along with the adjacent property in the year 1922. Many years later, in 1978, the windmill was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

The windmill itself is located at a fork in the road near the center of the Village of East Hampton, where Main Street and Montauk highway split. The area provides multiple accommodations and lodgings, such as the Mill House Inn, the East Hampton House Resort or the East Hampton Inn.
