Edventure Children’s Museum, the largest children’s museum in the entire region, is located at 211 Gervais Street in the area called Congaree Vista. Popular with families as well as student field trips, Edventure is a not-for-profit institution geared toward children 12 and under.

With more than 350 hands-on exhibits and over 65,000 square feet of museum space, Edventure has six galleries, a library, resource centers and interactive laboratories. Permanent exhibits include “Eddie, the World’s Largest Child,” which gives children an idea of the working of the human body, and “The Great Outdoors,” a look into hydroelectric and solar power.

The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday 9am to 5pm and Sunday from noon to 5. Monday hours begin in the summer. Admission is $7 for children and $9 for adults (info as of 09/09). Free parking is available in the museum lot.
