Named after the first governor of Alaska, the William A. Egan Center is located in downtown Anchorage, Alaska. Built in 1984, the center takes advantage of natural light that streams through the glass front that runs the entire length of the facility by planting large ficus trees in the reception area. The Center is 45,000 square feet and has a capacity of approximately 2.240 persons in the Explorer´s Hall or in the 22 function rooms. The lobby is home to a permanent display of Native art, including sculptures, beading and carvings.

The center hosts a wide variety of personal events, such as weddings, group meetings, sales conventions, weekly boxing tournaments called “Thursday Night at the Fights” and concerts. It is free to view the center and ticket cost ranges for each event.

The William A. Egan Center is located in downtown Anchorage, where the Anchorage Museum and the 4th Avenue Theater are notable attractions, and many visitors will enjoy the river that runs through downtown that provides excellent mountain salmon fishing.
