The El Paso Art Museum is a fine arts museum located in the sunny city of El Paso, Texas. It was established in 1959 and has since become a major cultural hub for the West Texas and New Mexico area. The Museum’s permanent collection includes over 5,000 works of art; additionally, the museum plays host to a wide variety of temporary exhibits, video screenings, lectures, films and concerts. Highlights include a collection of 12-18th century European art with paintings by Bernando Bellotto, Canaletto, Bernardo Strozzi and Francisco Zubaran among others. Contemporary works include sculptures and paintings by Carlos Callejo, James Drake, Gaspar Enriquez, Gilbert Lujan, and Al Souza. Admission is free to the public.
