For the world’s largest private collection of memorabilia from the King, head straight to the Elvis Presley Museum in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Presented by the Moon family, the museum has over 15,000 square-feet of everything Elvis, including nightly Elvis tribute shows in the TCB Theatre featuring some of the best impersonators in the business. Since 1971 Mike L. Moon has been collecting the Elvis memorabilia on display in the museum, acquiring his first piece when Elvis himself gave Mr. Moon a black leather belt- right off of his own trousers- or so the story goes. After Elvis passed away Mr. Moon opened the Elvis Presley Museum in 1979 with his own items and those donated by members of Elvis’ entourage, like cars, guns, jewelry, clothing, furniture, instruments and other tour items. Admissions to the Museum are $17 for adults, $20 to see a show in the TCB Theatre, or $25 for a combination ticket. Discounts are given for seniors (65+), and students over 12. Children under 6 enter free, and admissions for children ages 6 to 11 are $12 to the museum, $10 to a show, or $15 for a combination ticket. The museum is open every day of the year except Thanksgiving and Christmas Days, although the hours vary seasonally.
