Erastus Corning Tower, also known as simply Corning Tower, is the tallest skyscraper in Albany and also the tallest in the state, outside of New York City. named for the city's longest running mayor, the building is the home of various state offices, including the New York State Department of Health.

For visitors, the draw of the building isn't its offices, but rather, its view. On the 42nd floor of the building, there's an observation deck that offers incredible views not just of Albany, but of the Hudson River and the entire surrounding area. The deck is open until four in the afternoon daily and has an elevator that goes directly there.

Part of Empire State Plaza, Erastus Corning Tower is located close to The Egg, The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, and The Capital Building. It's also a short walk from most of downtown's hotels, including the Holiday Inn Express Downtown and The Hilton.
