The Ernst Happel Stadium is located in Leopoldstadt, a district of Vienna, Austria.

The stadium’s history is pretty interesting. It was built for the second Workers’ Olimpyad between 1929 and 1931 and during the World War Two it served as a Holocaust Prison. The stadium hosted seven games during UEFA Euro 2008, including the final.

This is Austria’s largest football stadium, being the home of the Austrian national football team. The stadium has a capacity of 53.000 seats which was reached after the modernization of the stadium for the UEFA Euro 2008 but since the capacity has been reduced. The stadium is rated between UEFA’s five stars stadiums. Here are playing the Vienna’s football teams in European cups because their stadiums are to small to host such competitions.
