The Ernst-Abbe-Sportfeld is a sports facility located in the city of Jena, Germany. The stadium is located right on the river Saale, on the south of the center of Jena.

It was opened on August 1924 and its actual name dates from 1939, when at stadium’s 15th anniversary it was named after the physicist and social reformer Ernst Abbe. The football and athletics stadium is the home stadium of FC Carl Zeiss Jena football team. The city of Jena is Ownership of the stadium. The scoreboard was installed in 1978, the first electronic scoreboard in the GDR. It has been irreparably damaged by a lightning strike in early 2005 and replaced in the summer of 2006 by a new video board that was previously in operation at the 2006 World Cup in Nuremberg. Due to constraints of the DFL for the second division stadiums in the summer of 2007 have been installed soil heating, a video surveillance system and the pitch slightly increased to the required size of 105 m length and 68 m width. The stadium has a seating capacity of more than 15,000 seats, of which 9572 seats.

From the train station tourists should take trolley bus no. 4, 5 or 35 which will take them directly to the stadium.
