Dubbed the Chocolate Box ("La Bombonera") because of its unique architecture, the Alberto J. Armando Stadium ("Estadio Alberto J. Armando) is home to Argentina's Boca Juniors football club. It is located in the heart of La Boca, which is one of Buenos Aires' most vibrant and eclectic communities. With a capacity for 57,395, the stadium is composed of 3 sides of traditional stands, and one side with vertically stacked seating areas (as was necessitated by the limited property size). As the Boca Juniors maintain one of Argentina's most devoted fan bases, the Alberto J. Armando Stadium has been praised for its acoustic properties, which are largely the result of this untraditional shape. As a result of the stadium's magnification of the cheers of the already very vocal fans, the Boca fan base is often called "the 12th man" ("la doce"). The stadium was originally opened in 1940 and has since undergone numerous renovations. Tickets prices vary based upon seating area and part of the season.
