Estadio Jose Alvalade is a UEFA elite stadium located in Lisbon, Portugal.

This is the home stadium of Sporting Lisbon football club, one of the biggest clubs in Portugal. It’s a five stars stadium which allows it to host the finals of UEFA’s major competitions. The stadium has a capacity of 50,076 seats and was acoustically engineered to be a venue for major concerts. 1325 places, including 30 for disabled spectators, underground parking is available at the stadium.

The stadium was officially opened on 6th August 2003 with a friendly match between Sporting and Manchester United and it hosted five matches on UEFA Euro 2004 and the 2005 UEFA Cup final between CSKA Moscow and Sporting Lisbon.

The stadium features multi-colored tiles on the exterior and the seats are arranged in a seemingly random color mix which gives the illusion that the stadium is always at full capacity. The stadium is the central piece of a complex called Alvalade XXI which includes a health club, a sports pavilion, a 12-screen movie theater, a clinic and an office building.

A major interface in Lisbon metro, the Campo Grande Station is located next to the stadium, as well as a bus terminal served by several companies. One of the busiest freeways in Lisbon, Secunda Circular, runs close by and the stadium can be reached via the exit Estadio de Alvalade.
